HOLMgoods is run by me - Anna Holm, with a wee bit of additional input from Mr Holm, my chief shipping director (post boy) & giver of sane advice and my useless but oh-so-handsome studio dog.
The HOLMgoods adventure began in 2011 after an exhaustive search for a well made, unfussy, unembellished, stylish bag that just didn't seem to exist at a reasonable price.
So, with the help of a sewing machine, a roll of waxed cotton, some beautiful leather and many years design experience, I designed and made my own. One bag led to another and another and then to numerous bespoke orders and the designing and stitching just didn't stop....
I grew up on the wild West coast of Scotland. Heather covered hills were literally my backyard and windswept seashores my playground. These natural elements hold an enduring influence that run deep at the heart of HOLM.
Learning to stitch from a very young age, I regularly took things apart to explore their construction - before reconstructing or redesigning them. This feel for fabric and design took me through Art school gaining a 1st class degree from Bristol UWE, and going on to achieve a postgraduate Masters degree at Central Saint Martins School of Art & Fashion London.
HOLMgoods has a Scottish no nonsense straightforwardness running through all my designs. You won't find bags festooned with unnecessary over embellishment or cheap materials. You will find a range of carry goods and home goods that are elegant, thoughtfully designed, effortlessly stylish, meticulously constructed and built to last.
HOLM loves mutts. They are a workshop necessity, utterly useless at stitching, of no help what-so-ever when it comes to packing orders, but top of the class when it comes to being the best company.
