The exterior pockets give easy access to items quickly and it's super spacious interior is constructed to pack in loads of baby changing stuff diapers etc.. or shopping, or college notes, or beach necessities.... whatever the occasion - this bag has the room to accommodate a great day out.

The LEWIS Tote comes with two carrying strap/handle options - fixed handles that are deep enough for shoulder use and a detachable cross body strap for times when you need to use your tote bag hands free.

A perfect combination of Scottish waxed canvas and Italian leather makes this bag ideal to combat all manner of weather conditions.


All zips are YKK (the best) and all other components from thread to hardware is professional grade industry standard .

Matching super strong leather handles:
shoulder/hand riveted handles measure 23.5 inches long (from the top of the bag)
detachable cross body strap is fully adjustable from 40 inches to 50 inches, with 2inch increments between.

LEWIS the largest and most northern island in the Outer Hebrides - Scotland, home to one of the best prehistoric sites in Scotland the Callanish Stones - 50 megaliths dating from around 3000 BC. On a sunny day (it does happen!) it's white sand beaches rival those of the Caribean - if a wee bit fresher!

ASSURANCE - why choose HOLM?

I take a huge amount of care in producing pieces of utmost quality, meticulous craftsmanship and functionality - all the items in my shop are designed, made, photographed, road tested and fretted over by myself, just me in my home studio with my two dogs and the radio for company.

I only make and use my own designed bag and purse patterns , I sketch the initial idea, refine the drawing, play around with dimensions, drafting the pattern, cut the pattern template, make a sample piece, wear the sample piece to see if it functions well and them once I’m happy with it I make it part of the HOLM family. I don’t buy in patterns therefore ensure all HOLM bags are unique.

I'm obsessive about attention to detail from using the best materials and hardware, to sourcing and ensuring the best environmentally conscious credentials of everything that goes into making a HOLM bag. All parts of the handmade production process are very thoughtfully considered and I hope this shows in the work I create.

Waxed canvas is exactly as it sounds !

100% cotton canvas which is skilfully treated with wax to create a fabric that is bound with fantastic natural waterproof qualities

here at HOLM I only use the world’s finest quality waxed cotton which has been manufactured in Scotland since 1864. Originally used in rainwear for North Sea fishermen - it’s not only stood the test of time but proved those Scottish textile weavers know a thing or two about producing waterproof fabric, even The Queen is partial to a bit of waxed canvas especially when visiting Scotland.
